Bentonite and Kaolin clay for better skin

May 12, 2017 | 0 comments

Facial clays are one of the most effective ways to cleanse and tighten pores, leaving your face fresher and brighter thanks to the many healing properties found in them. Two of the most popular are Bentonite and Kaolin (usually the white variety), both of which are great for helping clear up acne and fighting premature aging as they remove toxins from pores, decrease inflammation, exfoliate, improve circulation and leave skin softer and smoother.

Bentonite beats impurities

For those with oily, troubled skin, Bentonite is ideal as it powerfully removes impurities such as excess sebum from pores, leaving them smaller over time and reducing the chances of becoming re-plugged with toxins.

Derived from nutrient-rich volcanic ash, Bentonite has been in use as a cosmetic and therapeutic ingredient since at least 2,500 BC, and has been considered by many cultures throughout history as one of the strongest clays for body and facial cleansing. Because it’s so powerful, for best results, you’ll want to use Bentonite already formulated in masks such as Derma9’s Zone Mask System.

Kaolin combats oil and dead cells

Kaolin clay, which has a long history of use in making fine porcelain, has been cleansing and toning skin for centuries. The yellow variety is considered more absorbent and better at exfoliating than the more familiar white Kaolin. However, white Kaolin is believed to be gentler on sensitive skin and with its disinfecting qualities is an excellent choice overall for masks. Red and pink Kaolin are excellent for very oily skin with enhanced detoxifying and exfoliating properties.

Kaolin’s purifying healing properties are found in Derma9’s Zone Mask System for cleansing, calming, toning and improved circulation. So when your skin could use the care that Kaolin clay can give it, be sure to add skin-brightening masks to your skincare routine.
